Luxury brands continue to scale back their operations in China, with jewelry brand Tiffany & Co announcing last week the closure of its boutique in Kunming’s Jinge Department Store. This store was the brand’s only location in Kunming and Yunnan Province. Including the Kunming boutique, Tiffany operates 45 stores across China. Having opened on January 4, 2011, the store served the Kunming market for 14 years and was one of the brands that had been present at Jinge since its inception. In September, Tiffany also reduced the footprint of its flagship store in Shanghai’s Hong Kong Plaza by half.
