Japanese beauty brand I-ne exits China
Japanese cosmetics giant I-ne recently announced during a board meeting its decision to dissolve and liquidate its wholly owned subsidiary, I-ne (Shanghai) Cosmetics Co, citing trends in the Chinese market. The dissolution date will depend on the completion of procedures and has yet to be finalized. Established in July 2020, the subsidiary focused on cosmetics production and sales in China, offering brands like Botanist, Yolu and Salonia through platforms such as Tmall, Douyin, and Watsons. However, data shows that I-ne has struggled over the past two to three years, with the subsidiary remaining unprofitable.
