Vera Wang sells namesake brand to WHP Global

Vera Wang yesterday announced the sale of her eponymous brand, which she founded 35 years ago, to WHP Global, the parent company of G-Star. Wang will continue to serve as creative director and will also become a shareholder in WHP. The WHP portfolio includes brands such as Rag & Bone, G-Star, Isaac Mizrahi, and Anne Klein, with global sales totaling approximately $7 billion. Founded in 1990, Vera Wang’s namesake brand started with bridal wear and has since expanded into multiple categories, including ready-to-wear, home goods, jewelry, fragrance, and footwear, generating annual sales exceeding $700 million. Her designs have been beloved by celebrities such as Beyoncé, Zendaya, and Kim Kardashian. Through this partnership, Vera Wang aims to focus on expanding into markets including China, the Middle East, and Latin America, while also exploring ventures in hotels, residences, and other experiential businesses to enrich the brand's lifestyle offerings.
