British whisky producer Diageo opened its first distillery in China – the Yun Tuo Single Malt Whisky Distillery – in Eryuan, Yunnan, on November 15. This distillery marks a new chapter for the Chinese whisky industry. Diageo plans to invest a total of 800 million RMB ($110 million) over the next nine years and aims to meet the growing and diverse demands of Chinese consumers with high-quality products, while promoting sustainable and innovative industry development.
