Japanese sportswear Goldwin opens 3rd China store

Japanese high-performance sports brand Goldwin opened its third store in China at the Jing’an Kerry Center in Shanghai at the end of last month. The brand’s first two stores in China are located in Sanlitun, Beijing, and Taikoo Li, Chengdu. Founded in 1950 by Tosaku Nishida, Goldwin initially operated as a small knitting factory focusing on producing wool mountaineering socks before shifting to the sports knitwear sector. Since the 1960s, the brand has improved its ski sweaters, gaining recognition in the ski product market. According to Goldwin’s fiscal year 2023 financial report, the group’s revenue surged 110% YoY to 126.9 billion Japanese yen ($852 million), while net profit soared 115% to 24.28 billion yen ($162 million).
