Canada’s EV tariffs spark WTO complaint from China

Canada plans to impose a 100% additional tax on electric vehicles made in China starting October 1 this year and a 25% tariff on steel and aluminum products from China starting October 15. China has filed a complaint against Canada with the WTO, urging the withdrawal of these tariff measures. This marks China’s third tariff-related complaint to the WTO this year, following its lawsuit against the US in March and against the EU in August.
