German online fashion retailer Zalando announced the opening of a technology center in Shenzhen to leverage local expertise in social commerce and combine it with its knowledge of the European e-commerce market. However, the company currently has no plans to expand its e-commerce platform to China. Zalando serves around 50 million active customers across 25 European markets and has recently focused on high-end brands and sportswear, introducing brands such as Lululemon, Hoka, and On Running in recent quarters.
