Repetto accelerates China expansion with new stores

French luxury fashion brand Repetto, known for its ballet shoes, is showing signs of renewed expansion in the Chinese market. Recently, Repetto opened new stores in Chengdu’s Yintai in99 and Wuhan’s SKP, its only locations in Southwest and Central China, respectively. Earlier in May, Repetto launched pop-ups in Shanghai’s Qiantan Taikoo Li and Hangzhou’s Kerry Center. Although Repetto entered China in 2013, its expansion has been slow, with only six stores by the end of 2019. The brand’s operations in China are managed by Swire Resources, a retail distributor under Swire Group. By the end of 2023, Repetto had only six stores in mainland China, having withdrawn from Chengdu. However, the brand’s recent efforts indicate a more aggressive push into the mainland market, now operating 11 stores across major cities.
