BMW appeals for reduced duties on Chinese-built Mini EV

BMW has asked Brussels to lower tariffs on its China-made electric Mini, currently subject to the highest duties under provisional EU regulation. The goal is to include the model in the group of companies cooperating with the investigation, potentially reducing duties from 37.6% to 20.8%. The European Commission recently imposed provisional duties on electric vehicle imports from China, with a comment period until July 18. Since BMW’s electric Mini wasn’t part of the initial sample analysis, it received the highest tariff.
