The Outnet Celebrates One Year In China

Just ahead of the launch of a Chinese-language version and Hong Kong distribution hub by its parent company, Net-A-Porter, the Outnet.cn is celebrating its one-year anniversary with a promotional gifting campaign. Through March 19 (3/19), newly registered and existing members will receive a 319 yuan (US$51) gift credit to their accounts, which can be used on purchases over 1,319 yuan ($212). In addition, users who place an order exceeding 3,190 yuan ($513) will receive a further 319 yuan credit to their total purchase. On March 19, the Outnet.cn will also launch a sale with selected items priced at 319 yuan, offering a bonus 319 yuan credit for purchases over 3,190 yuan. Offering discounts or gift credits to newly registered members is becoming a regular promotional tactic for e-commerce sites in China. Most recently, we've seen similar promotions by Hugo Boss -- in celebration of the launch of its official Chinese online store, with the brand giving new members a 100 yuan gift certificate to use on purchases of over 1,000 yuan through March 31 -- and Lane Crawford, which gave those who registered on the Lane Crawford China website a chance to win a 2,000 yuan store credit.
