Moleskine's "Detour" To Hit Shanghai This October

Shanghai Leg Of Moleskine Promotional World Tour Will Include Works By Chinese Artists From October 20 - November 20, Shanghai's ritzy Bund 18 will host the traveling "Detour" exhibition organized by the popular Italian notebook maker Moleskine. Curated by Raffaella Guidobono, Moleskine's "Detour" group show includes creations by artists working in a number of different mediums, from artists and filmmakers to graphic designers, writers and architects. Encouraging free-form creation, artist notebooks in the show have included short stories, 3D designs, papercuts and pen-and-ink illustrations. Previous sites of the "Detour" exhibition have included London (2006), New York (2007), Paris (2008), Berlin (2008), Istanbul (2009) and Tokyo (2009) and Venice (summer 2010). As Sohu (Chinese) points out today, the Shanghai edition of "Detour" will include contributions from several established contemporary artists from around the world in addition to a number of well-known members of the Chinese illustration, photography, design, architecture, street art and film communities. Along with the physical exhibition, all entries will also be displayed on the Moleskine website. In addition to the exhibition at Bund 18, from October 20 - November 20 the "myDetour" project will land in Shanghai, giving Chinese creatives the opportunity to submit their work for inclusion in the myDetour "online museum" at one of four collection points throughout the city. Since 2007, similar myDetour projects have collected thousands of contributions in New York, Tokyo, Berlin, San Francisco and other cities, and the submissions from Shanghai this year will be included in next year's traveling exhibition. myDetour collection points in Shanghai: - Aegis Co-Op（翼杰室） - Shanghai Art Bookstore（艺术书坊） - City'Super Shanghai（超∙生活） - Point To life Bookstore（点金石书店）
