Luxury resale hits new highs, niche labels surge

Luxury resale is gaining momentum, according to eBay’s Spring/Summer 2026 Watchlist trend report, drawing on 136 million active buyers and 2.5 billion listings. Heritage houses including Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Burberry and Chanel maintained strong demand in Q1 2026, while niche labels saw sharp value growth — Rodarte surged 721% in average sales price and Raf Simons rose 384%. The Gucci Padlock Bag jumped 530% in resale value and the Patek Philippe Nautilus increased 154%. Consumer behavior is driven by five aesthetic shifts, from “Weightless Drama” (Alaïa ballet flats searches up 58%) to “Quiet Confidence” (slouchy blazer searches up 1,495%).
