US and China confirm Trump state visit for May 13-15
China has confirmed US President Donald Trump will make a state visit from May 13-15 — his first to the country since 2017 — to meet President Xi Jinping. The two leaders are expected to discuss trade tensions, Taiwan, and the Iran conflict, with US officials highlighting potential to extend the October trade truce. Originally scheduled for March or April, the trip was delayed due to the Iran war. The visit will include a tour of Beijing’s Temple of Heaven and a state banquet.
