Porsche cuts 500 jobs as CEO closes 3 subsidiaries

Porsche has announced plans to eliminate more than 500 positions as the German automaker discontinues three subsidiaries — Cellforce Group, Porsche eBike Performance, and Cetitec — to focus on core operations amid mounting financial pressures. The restructuring follows further profit erosion in Q1 2026, as the company doubles down on cost-cutting to navigate challenges from tariffs, geopolitical turmoil, and gaps in its model lineup. CEO Michael Leiters said the company must refocus on its core business as the foundation for strategic realignment.
