China launches Labor Day spending drive with vouchers

China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has launched the 2026 National “Labor Day” Cultural and Tourism Consumption Week, featuring approximately 13,700 activities nationwide and over 284 million RMB ($39.2 million) in consumer vouchers and subsidies. The initiative runs from late April through the Labor Day holiday and includes spring flower-viewing tours, family-friendly events, and study tours. Partners include Sinopec, China Mobile, ICBC, ABC, Amap, and Tongcheng Travel, which have rolled out travel discounts, fuel promotions, mobile data deals, and banking offers to encourage holiday spending.
