EssilorLuxottica posts 11% sales rise on AI glasses boom

EssilorLuxottica reported an 11% constant-currency sales increase in Q1, reaching 7.13 billion euros ($8.37 billion) — its third consecutive quarter of double-digit growth. The world’s largest eyewear company credited strong sales of Ray-Ban and Oakley AI-enhanced frames across North America, Europe, and Asia, noting a halo effect on other products. Myopia management products rose 26%, boosting growth in the Chinese market. CEO Francesco Milleri expressed confidence in an uncertain environment, reiterating the company’s mid-term profit goals. Despite strong results, EssilorLuxottica shares have lost about a quarter of their value this year amid concerns over competition from Alibaba and the impact of AI glasses on profit margins.
