Approximately 45% of scheduled mainland China-to-Japan flights for the five-day Labor Day holiday have been canceled as of April 20, representing a YoY increase of about 33% in cancellation rates, according to flight data provider Flight Master. Shanghai, Beijing, Dalian, Guangzhou, and Nanjing recorded the highest number of cancellations, with entire routes including Shenyang-Osaka, Tianjin-Osaka, Fuzhou-Nagoya, Ningbo-Osaka, and Guangzhou-Nagoya completely scrapped. A total of 210 flights to Japan have been canceled for the holiday period. By contrast, China-South Korea flights rank first in planned volume, up 11.1% YoY.
