Coty and Interparfums have denied reports that the US beauty company was in talks to sell its Hugo Boss and Burberry fragrance licenses to the Paris-based group. “Any suggestion that Coty is in talks to transfer or sell prestige brand licences is categorically false and without merit,” a Coty spokesperson told Reuters. Interparfums CEO Philippe Benacin also denied any discussions. The denial comes as Coty — which has withdrawn its full-year guidance and warned on Q3 profits — refocuses on core brands under interim CEO Markus Strobel, including its Hugo Boss and Burberry fragrance lines, which are not subject to its ongoing Consumer Beauty strategic review.
