Texas investigates Lululemon over PFAS in products

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched an investigation into Lululemon over concerns the Canadian activewear brand may have misled consumers by using PFAS, or “forever chemicals,” in products while marketing wellness and sustainability credentials. The news sent shares down as much as 4.5%. In response, Lululemon said it phased out PFAS entirely in early 2024, where they had been used in a small share of water-repellent products. The brand says current products meet global safety standards, with third-party vendor testing in place. The story trended on China’s Weibo on April 14, with Lululemon China confirming all products sold there are PFAS-free.
