China’s Ruoyuchen to acquire Erno Laszlo for 299 million RMB
Chinese brand management firm Ruoyuchen announced April 10 it will acquire 100% of skincare label Erno Laszlo for 299 million RMB ($43.84 million) via wholly-owned subsidiary Ruoyuchen International. Founded in 1927 by Hungarian dermatologist Dr. Erno Laszlo and historically linked to Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn, the brand entered China in 2014 and has built a 2.3 million-strong member base with a repurchase rate exceeding 25%. Ruoyuchen said the deal will broaden its skincare portfolio and reduce reliance on single core brands.
