New fashion brand Wylie Welling, founded by Carhartt heir Gretchen Valade, made its global debut April 7, reworking archival American workwear into a unisex collection focused on circularity and craftsmanship. Valade, the great-great-granddaughter of Carhartt founder Hamilton Carhartt, previously served as the company’s director of sustainability. The debut Spring 2026 collection features one-off pieces sourced from vintage Carhartt garments dating from the 1970s to early 2000s, each upcycled in Los Angeles and Detroit. The brand plans to open a Detroit retail space in the Little Village neighborhood later this summer, also serving as a community hub.
