Hermès poaches Celine’s Léa Peckre for couture push

Hermès has hired Léa Peckre, formerly women’s Ready-to-Wear design director at Celine, according to sources. Peckre will join the team led by women’s creative director Nadège Vanhée, though her specific role has not been disclosed. The appointment comes as CEO Axel Dumas confirmed plans to enter haute couture, with a launch expected in 2027. Peckre, a graduate of La Cambre and winner of the Hyères and Andam prizes, spent five years at Celine. The hire follows last year’s appointment of Grace Wales Bonner as men’s creative director, part of Hermès’ broader push to strengthen its apparel business.
