L’Oréal has expanded its AI partnership with Nvidia to develop a beauty and skincare engine, integrating the Nvidia Alchemi machine learning framework into its R&D ecosystem. Unveiled at Nvidia’s GTC conference, the system enables scientists to simulate ingredient performance and test thousands of formulation variables simultaneously — accelerating development by up to 100 times. Building on a June 2025 agreement focused on AI-driven marketing, the collaboration now targets molecular discovery and formulation design. L’Oréal’s 4,000-strong R&D team will initially focus on photoprotection and skin tone management, with first products expected to reach market within one to two years.
