China AI stocks surge on Jensen Huang’s OpenClaw praise

Chinese AI stocks surged Wednesday after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called OpenClaw “definitely the next ChatGPT” in a CNBC interview at the company’s GTC conference in California. OpenClaw is an open-source autonomous AI agent platform widely adopted in China. MiniMax and Zhipu — two of China’s so-called “AI tigers” building large language models to rival OpenAI and Anthropic — surged 22% and 14% in Hong Kong, respectively, after both released agentic tools built on OpenClaw. Moody’s noted China’s AI adoption cements its position among the world’s leading AI markets, though uptake remains uneven across sectors.
