Lamborghini scraps Lanzador EV, pivots to hybrids
Lamborghini has shelved its all-electric Lanzador “Ultra GT,” confirming the 1,341-horsepower model will not enter production. CEO Stephan Winkelmann told Wired that demand for full electric cars among supercar buyers is “going almost to zero,” and that the market is “not ready.” All four Lamborghini models will instead be plug-in hybrids by 2029. The decision mirrors retreats by Bentley, which pushed its EV plans to 2035, and Aston Martin, which has similarly delayed its first all-electric model. The Lanzador had been due to arrive in 2028.
