China’s Spring Festival cross-border trips rise 10% YoY

China recorded 17.796 million cross-border passenger trips during the Spring Festival holiday, averaging 1.977 million daily — a 10.1% increase YoY, according to the National Immigration Administration. Mainland residents accounted for 9.514 million trips (+10.2% YoY), while Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan residents made 6.969 million trips (+8%). Foreign nationals surged 21.8%, recording 1.313 million trips, with 460,000 entering under visa-free policies (+28.5%). The peak day fell on February 21 with 2.259 million trips. Authorities also processed 705,000 cross-border vehicles, vessels, trains, and flights, up 19.4% daily.
