Prada Film Fund selects 14 projects as it enters operational phase

Prada Group’s Prada Group Film Fund, unveiled at the Venice Film Festival in 2025, has entered its operational phase, backing 14 feature films selected from more than 1,200 submissions across 26 countries.

With a total budget of 1.5 million euros ($1.62 million), the fund supports projects across development, production, and post-production. Four selected films are in development, nine in production, and one in post-production, with production grants capped at 250,000 euros ($270,000) per project, according to Variety.

The inaugural selection highlights the fund’s international scope, including directors such as Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Yuri Ancarani and Verena Paravel. Prada also presented the initiative at the Berlin International Film Festival, signaling its ambition to anchor the fund within the global cinema circuit.

The move builds on Prada’s longstanding engagement with film under Miuccia Prada and reflects a broader trend among luxury groups — including Kering and LVMH — expanding investment in cinema.
