Fliggy travel bookings surge in first three days of Spring Festival

The Spring Festival holiday has entered its peak travel period, with bookings for travel and accommodation during the first three days showing significant year-on-year growth, according to data released by Alibaba’s online travel agency Fliggy on February 17. Hotel room nights surged more than 80% compared with the same period last year, while ticket sales rose 54%. Popular domestic destinations during the holiday include Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming, and Xiamen.

Outbound travel also saw strong momentum, with flight bookings and local activity orders both up more than 30% year-on-year. Inbound tourism showed particularly strong growth, with international flight bookings to China up 345% compared with last year.
