Russian tourist arrivals to China surge 471% for CNY
Inbound travel to China for the Chinese New Year holiday is surging, with online travel platforms reporting massive growth in foreign bookings. The standout trend is a 471% year-on-year increase in travelers from Russia, according to data from Ctrip. Data from Fliggy and Qunar platforms also indicates overall foreign flight bookings are up more than 400% and nearly 30%, respectively. While major hubs like Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou remain top destinations, there’s a notable rise in bookings to smaller cities such as Lanzhou and Hohhot.
