Hong Kong welcomed approximately 950,000 visitors between December 31, 2025, and January 4, 2026, a YoY increase of about 40%. Mainland Chinese visitors accounted for the majority of arrivals, with over 740,000 entries — a rise of 48% compared to the same period last year. Non-mainland arrivals also grew, reaching around 210,000, an increase of 19%. January 1 marked the peak day for mainland arrivals, with about 220,000 visitors entering the city. The Express Rail Link West Kowloon Control Point was the most-used port of entry. During the New Year holiday period, around 630 mainland tour groups visited Hong Kong, bringing more than 23,000 travelers.
