French luxury house Berluti is holding a temporary workshop at Shenzhen’s MixC shopping mall from December 5, 2025, to January 4, 2026. The workshop is the brand’s first China stop, focusing on its signature Scritto gilding technique. Visitors can observe artisans and book appointments to witness the creation process. The Scritto pattern, engraved onto Venezia leather, traces its origins to 18th-century French script that inspired Olga Berluti. During the early 2010s, Berluti’s color masters developed the technique, manually tracing engraved Scritto lines with gilt. Each piece is considered unique.
