Tianjin opens 1st downtown duty-free store

Tianjin has opened its first downtown duty-free store, operated by China Duty-Free Group (CDFG) at the Yanlord Riverside Plaza. The launch marks a step in the city’s plan to become a northern China consumption hub. The store spans 1,105 sqm and combines duty-free shopping with taxable retail. The duty-free section offers international brands in perfumes, cosmetics, spirits, watches, and travel electronics. A taxable zone features Chinese cultural brands, including intangible heritage products and local specialties. Officials said the store supports national efforts to boost domestic consumption and enhances Tianjin’s retail landscape. The store forms part of CDFG’s strategy to integrate online and offline retail.
