French EssilorLuxottica workers strike for better pay
Approximately 9,000 workers at EssilorLuxottica in France are set to stage a three-day nationwide strike from November 27 to 29, demanding improved wages. The labor action follows the company’s record-breaking quarterly performance. Union FO Metaux stated this marks the first coordinated action across all union organizations and EssilorLuxottica entities in the country. The eyewear giant, formed from the merger of Italy’s Luxottica and France’s Essilor in 2018, reported its highest-ever quarterly sales of 6.87 billion euros ($7.94 billion) for the period through September. EssilorLuxottica declined to comment.
