Shanghai police bust Van Cleef & Arpels counterfeiting ring

Shanghai police dismantled a counterfeiting operation selling fake Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry through livestreaming, arresting 22 suspects and seizing over 50,000 items valued at over 20 million RMB ($2.8 million). The investigation began after Richemont Group identified Baoshan District merchants falsely promoting “authentic” jewelry during broadcasts. Police tracked shipping addresses to a Hutai Highway warehouse and residential villa command center. The September raid uncovered evidence of over 50 million RMB ($7 million) in revenue. Richemont praised Shanghai law enforcement’s “Blue Whale” Enterprise Protection Initiative.
