Chinese EV makers post record October sales

Chinese electric vehicle makers demonstrated robust growth in October, with multiple brands setting delivery records. Leapmotor led with 70,289 deliveries, up 84% YoY. XPeng and Nio both achieved historic highs with 42,013 and 40,397 vehicles, respectively, while Xiaomi Auto maintained steady performance with over 40,000 deliveries. Zeekr exceeded 60,000 monthly deliveries for the first time with 61,636 vehicles. Li Auto delivered 31,767 units, though CEO Li Xiang revealed overwhelming demand for the new i6 model with orders surpassing 70,000. Despite strong EV performance, China’s overall passenger vehicle market declined 7% YoY during October 1-26, highlighting the accelerating shift toward electric vehicles.
