Mercedes-Benz Q3 profit slumps 70% on tariff costs

Mercedes-Benz posted a 70% YoY drop in Q3 operating profit to 750 million euros ($795 million) as revenue fell 6.9% to 32.15 billion euros ($34.1 billion). Adjusted EBIT dropped 17% to 2.1 billion euros ($2.23 billion), pressured by U.S. tariffs, restructuring costs, and softening demand. The automaker booked 876 million euros ($929 million) in restructuring expenses and aims to cut 5 billion euros ($5.3 billion) globally by 2027. Mercedes continues to face thinner EV margins in Europe amid strict emissions rules and rising global competition.
