Tesla led Europe’s battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales in September with 38,028 units sold, despite a 12% YoY decline, according to preliminary industry data. The Model Y remained its top seller with 25,019 units, while the Model 3 followed as Europe’s second best-selling BEV. Volkswagen ranked second in BEV sales with 23,018 units (up 18% YoY), while Škoda saw significant growth with 16,737 units (up 60% YoY), driven by its new Elroq compact SUV. Overall, Europe’s BEV market grew 22% in September, accounting for 20.8% of total car sales. The plug-in hybrid segment grew 63%, with Chinese automakers BYD and Chery taking the top two spots.
