China border crossings rise 12.9% in Q3 2025

Immigration authorities across China processed 178 million border crossings in Q3 2025, up 12.9% YoY. Among them were 89.37 million mainland residents and 68.731 million travelers from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, up 13.8% and 6.2% respectively. Foreign nationals made 20.134 million crossings, a 22.3% YoY increase. Of these, 7.25 million foreigners entered China visa-free, accounting for 72.2% of total foreign entries, up 48.3% YoY. In the first three quarters, immigration authorities processed 510 million border crossings, 14.3% higher than last year.
