Japanese streetwear label A Bathing Ape (Bape) opened its first dedicated store in Chongqing on Monday, marking its debut in the southwestern city at the upscale MixC mall. The launch highlights Chongqing’s role as a hub for street culture and hip-hop in China, where Bape has built a strong following. On the same day, the brand reopened its relocated Bape store in Guangzhou at Taikoo Hui. The Chongqing store incorporates design elements referencing the city’s mountainous terrain and river landscape, with green camouflage interiors and industrial materials. To mark the opening, Bape will release a Chongqing-exclusive camouflage print in orange, red, and pink.
