Changsha’s first downtown duty-free shop began trial operations September 15 at Wangfujing Department Store in Wuyi Square, one of eight new city-center duty-free outlets approved nationwide. The store spans over 1,000 sqm, combining duty-free, taxed retail, and cross-border e-commerce. Over 60 categories and 1,000 brands are available, with duty-free items priced 10-30% below market rates. Travelers with outbound tickets from Changsha Huanghua Airport within 60 days can buy duty-free goods in-store and collect at departure. Taxed sections feature Chinese heritage brands, Hunan specialties, and cultural gifts.
