Nio confirms McLaren tech partnership, posts Q2 growth
Nio Chairman William Li confirmed the Chinese EV maker is supplying technology to British supercar brand McLaren, its first public acknowledgment of the partnership. The cooperation, arranged by major shareholder Abu Dhabi’s CYVN Holdings, generated several hundred million RMB in technical services revenue in Q2. Nio posted Q2 2025 revenue of 19.01 billion RMB ($2.64 billion), up 9% YoY and 57.9% quarter-on-quarter. Net loss narrowed to about 5 billion RMB ($694 million). CYVN invested $3.3 billion in Nio in 2023 and acquired McLaren’s automotive assets in April. Nio aims to reach profitability in Q4 2025.
