Maison Margiela is expanding its classification system with “Line 2,” dedicated to intangible products bridging art and culture. Unlike existing numbered lines covering footwear, fragrance, and fashion, this initiative focuses on cultural projects. The first Line 2 installment debuts September 3 at Margiela’s Seoul flagship, coinciding with Frieze Seoul. The presentation features an installation by visual artist Heemin Chung and sound designer Joyul. This reflects a significant shift for the house, which has long emphasized anonymity and conceptual design in fashion. By integrating art and cultural collaborations, Margiela opens new creative expression channels beyond traditional collections.
