Asia’s largest outlet mall set for 2026 completion

Shanghai Bailian Co. is accelerating construction on the second phase of its Qingpu Outlet project, scheduled for completion in 2026. The combined phases will reach 200,000 sqm, with annual sales expected to exceed 7 billion RMB ($960 million), positioning it as Asia’s largest outlet mall. The expansion adds 100 stores to the existing 600-plus brand lineup, including luxury labels like Gucci and Burberry. Two bridges will connect phases, alongside 2,500 additional parking spaces. Bailian operates nine outlets nationwide, with all reporting YoY growth in sales and foot traffic from January to July 2025. Opened nearly 20 years ago, Qingpu currently houses over 400 shops and remains the only outlet with annual sales above 6 billion RMB ($820 million).
