Miu Miu announced French filmmaker Alice Diop will direct Fragments for Venus, the 30th installment in its Women's Tales short film series. The work will premiere on August 30 during the Venice International Film Festival’s Giornate degli Autori program. Diop is known for documentaries such as La Permanence (On Call) and Vers la Tendresse (Towards Tenderness) exploring marginalized groups’ realities. Her debut feature Saint Omer (2022), based on a true case, won multiple awards at Venice. Launched 15 years ago, Miu Miu’s Women’s Tales project has commissioned 30 short films by female directors, showcasing women's creativity and diverse perspectives in contemporary cinema.
