Shenzhen’s 1st downtown duty-free store to open late August

Shenzhen’s first downtown duty-free store will open in late August at UpperHills in Futian District, covering nearly 3,000 sqm. Jointly developed by China Duty Free Group, Shenzhen Duty Free Group, and Shum Yip Group, the store will combine duty-free and taxable goods, imported and domestic products, and online-offline retail. It will offer beauty, watches, jewelry, premium liquor, domestic designer products, and electronics, featuring both global luxury labels and traditional Chinese heritage brands. It will also include themed spaces such as a whisky gallery, a Tongrentang wellness zone, a spa skincare area, and an interactive tech corridor. Shenzhen is among eight Chinese cities approved in 2024 to operate one downtown duty-free store each.
