Capri Holdings swings to profit despite revenue decline

Capri Holdings, the parent company of U.S. luxury brand Michael Kors, reported quarterly revenue of $797 million, down 6% YoY, but swung to net profit of $53 million. By brand, Michael Kors revenue fell 5.9% to $635 million, while Jimmy Choo declined 6.4% to $162 million. Despite sluggish retail market, demand for the group’s handbags and footwear improved. Capri’s shares rose about 10% in pre-market trading following the earnings release.
