China-US trade talks end without extension agreement
Chinese and U.S. officials wrapped up two days of talks in Stockholm on Tuesday without reaching an agreement to extend their trade truce, which is set to expire in mid-August. While both sides agreed to continue discussions, a renewed trade war remains a risk. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the talks were “constructive” but stressed any extension must be approved by President Trump, who hinted at unresolved issues but noted progress had been made. A 90-day extension is under consideration.
