Gucci sales plummet 25%
Gucci sales plummeted again in Kering’s most recent quarter, underlining the scale of the challenge facing the French luxury group’s new chief executive Luca de Meo. Comparable revenue at Gucci fell 25% YoY to 1.46 billion euros ($1.69 billion) in Q2. That was a similar decline to the first quarter and in line with expectations from analysts. Gucci accounts for about half of Kering's sales and two-thirds of operating profits. Sales at Yves Saint Laurent, the second-largest brand, were also down by 10% in the quarter. Operating income in the first half fell by 39% to 969 million euros ($1.12 billion).
