Singapore tops 2025 Henley Passport Index rankings

The 2025 Henley Passport Index, based on IATA data, highlights shifting global mobility trends. Singapore ranks first, with visa-free access to 193 destinations, followed by Japan and South Korea (190 destinations). Seven EU countries, including France, Germany, and Italy, share third place with 189. The U.S. dropped to 10th, its lowest in nearly two decades, with visa-free access to 182 destinations. The U.K. slipped to sixth, reflecting broader shifts in global mobility and growing demand for second citizenship among U.S. and U.K. nationals. Asian countries continue to climb. India rose eight spots to 77th, while mainland China moved up to 60th, boosted by new visa-free agreements with Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and others.
