Gongbilin, a Chinese travel service brand specializing in group tours for retirees, has completed its Series A funding round, raising over 100 million RMB ($13.9 million). The round was led by Hong Kong Concept Capital and primarily funded in U.S. dollars. Founded by Jiashen Kang, co-founder of Ele.me and former Alibaba executive, Gongbilin is Kang’s latest venture following his departure from the tech giant. The company previously secured angel investment in 2021 from Gaorong Capital and Yuanjing Capital. As China’s aging population reshapes the tourism market — seniors are projected to make up 50% of domestic travelers by 2040 — Gongbilin has positioned itself as a leader in the space.
